Introduction to the case
Wanted to post a case and ask for feedback on the shaping, fill and healing of #8, as well as treatment sequencing.
Fun retreatment. Patient had RCT on 9, which was retreated by another endodontist 5 years ago. Patient developed pain and swelling in the area. CBCT revealed a transported canal with a perforation. I was able to locate the canal and hopefully save the tooth!
Tooth #3 with 2 DB roots! This was something I have never seen before, 2 completely separate DB roots! Patient came in with extreme pain to hot and cold. A diagnosis of SIP with Normal Apical Tissue was made. Pt is aware that there was deep decay and will need CCL. There were Two MB canals, Two DB Roots and a palatal root as well. 5 Canals!
In the world of implants it’s nice to see patients trying to hold onto their teeth. Patient presented with deep prolongs along the distal. Patient informed of poor prognosis but was adamant to try and keep his tooth. He was just in for a one year recall and there are no probings, the X-ray shows almost complete healing.
