Introduction to the case
Under a rubber dam positioning marginal ridges on multiple teeth can be tenuous. If the marginal ridges are too high there is a risk of adjusting through the contact when finalizing the occlusion. The Greater Curve system allows you to create contacts with depth. The risk of adjusting through the contact is mitigated.
Initial preps. (No preopt. Not quick enough with camera.) Wedges preventive catching dam with the bur.
Caries check with the Diagnodent. A 12 or less reading 1.5 mm around periphery. I like the Diagnodent because of the positive feedback. Using the Diagnodent directly on dentin is very accurate because it is not reading through a layer of enamel.
Buccal cusps reduced 2 mm. The cusps were thin. I will overlay with composite.
Occlusal view. Ready to fill.
Greater Curve matrix in place. Distal contact opening evident.
Consepsis, Clean and Boost, Prelude bonding agent. SDR Flow in the boxes. Ribbond placed into the SDR Flow prior to curing.
Occlusal filled with Filtek A3 Body. Buccal cusp over layed with A2 Enamel. Ready for final adjustment.
Greater Curve surrounds #5. Mesial and distal openings made. Fast and easy set up. Teeth restored in a neutral position. No pushing and shoving around with wedges and springs. Ready to fill.
Labial view of over layed cusps teeth #’s 4&5. Gingivitis prevented me from achieving a clean photo.
